Envy my card? I’ve just noticed that mine was incorrectly marked up in my signature--it's one down from yours in fact--the GTX 570--so it’s not that. I’m Running Windows Pro 64 bit & X-Plane 10.11r3
It has to be in the ‘GPU NVIDIA’ or ‘Rendering Options settings’ -- 'NVIDIA Control Panel’ which I find critical & set myself by trial & error. ‘Use NVIDIA settings’ options. Every computer will vary but our GPU’s are practically identical.
Brightnes----+60%
Contrast-----+85%
Gamma----- +1.14%
Digital Vib.--+87%
Hue- -+0%
‘X-PLANES RENDERING OPTIONS’ are critical too (see attachment 1) ---I set mine as shown.
I do not use HDR as it reduces contrast and gives a ‘Washy’ FSX effect. I only use 3D on Aircraft shadow detail—it is the only option that gives crisp shadow edges-the Global options have been improved but still give jagged edges to shadows and straight lines.
With these set I do not take random Screenshots. If I see a weather or scenery location I like the look of whilst flying I ‘Pause the Sim’ and using ‘Chase View Deluxe’ I dive out of the plane and look around from every angle.
Then using the sub options (see Attachment 2) –Options-Location-Local Map page I can arrange the direction the Aircraft is flying & the height it is flying at without moving it within the Sim.
Furthermore by using Options—Environment—Date & Time I can change the lighting and its quality and direction by moving the suns position. The weather can also be adjusted by the same means.
Using these multi options in endless combinations and clicking the Screenshots button endlessly I arrive at hundreds of vastly varying Screenshots—without moving the plane a millimetre.
Then I view and delete them one by one until I am left with a handful I’m happy with—and hopefully everyone else is too.—otherwise I delete the lot and start again!!
Hope this helps GlowWorm Jasons are the Glossiest Planes around!
