And my original, early x bone tree hugging video, before I worked out how to stop the buffeting at 500kt @ tree level!

Simon, thank you so much for posting those. I'd seen one of those shakin Bone ones. I'm curious, is that with cinema verite on? some other camera view plugin, and I think that shaking is related to framerate. Try increasing the flight model per frames up to 4+. I've seen similiar in the xM!G when it's up in the 500-600kt range too.

that reminds me. the xBone is due for it's 3d contiguous panel soon too. I think that red/white style paint I put on the LFX & LJX would be pretty sharp on it too. or maybe another color set on it. blue/white perhaps. but again, thanks for those videos and your enthusiasm for the xBONE.

Thanks! Yes, I updated my comments on the original u2b vid to say that bouncing is prevented by disabling the gforce 3d plugin and a sim rate of 4 seemed to work. The wingsweep helps at that speed as well! I love the Bengal livery, and actually picked the blue/ white livery for the kaitak vid, but forgot to reselect once I reloaded the thing. Yes, the red/ white scheme would be great ( although this baby would still look slick in green and pink polkadots...)

Hi, as I'm on leave I ve had a little more time to whip up vids. I've just posted this to the .org site, obviously this vid belongs in c74 too! P.s. Wot's the meaning of c74? It always reminds me of my trusty old c64! Simon

Good to see a clear vid of this luxury airboat/seaplane. You spilt my caviar on that first landing! People tell me you have to set waves to zero to stop the bouncy landings for most seaplanes. Simon.

LOL. well.. there's a few things at work there. I had real-weather set, that also sets water.. which I forgot about. It had set the water to about 2.5' waves, but the surface looks smooth. And.. approach speed there was about 135, with a 10-13kt crosswind.. expecting to have to stick the landing for a short-field technique. I didnt' expect to make the landing, I expected to float in WIG a little further. weight was default-halfs, which usually puts low IGE WIG speed down as low as 105, which is the reason for the re-liftoff, due to planting sooner than later to get in the water for braking, in two to three footers ye cant see.

The SK is one that can take the waves, the hull length spans the wave peaks, but sticking the landing, getting tossed back up by waves, still at flight speed.. Anyway. Yes, I normally set the water to minimum or nil waves. You'd in theory only be doing to/ldgs behind breakwater barriers, or calmer water anyway. Mountain lakes rare to never have nearly 3' waves. barely whitecap 1's on a bad day.

:D

and the takeoff.. went all the way up to the far end of the lake to get a full length run at it. making the turn as the lake curves limits speed.. so that bend of the lake turn is at about 75-85.. and then lining up for the straight run down toward the docks...90's.. 100.. 105.. just barely skimming.. pullup, wallow the initial climb up through ground effect and then pitch over a little.. monitoring and moderating AOA.. and then up comes more flight speed.. 120..130.... 150.. with cruise speed through the mountains there at 210. I think in a couple of the takeoff views, you can see the 10-15kt crosswind take hold of her after takeoff
