There's Makeovers and then there's Mig-overs

Postby kiofka »

There's Makeovers and then there's Mig-overs. This is absolutely a Mig-over. New liveries, and new interior make this an aircraft to kill for. There's also been a serious adjustment under the hood. This thing cooks like a meteor through the stratosphere. Our boss has got this thing turnin' 3s at the Fast Track, which,up until now,was unheard of. G-suit highly recommended.

*clink clink.. bang.. zip zip of a ratchet.. zap of an arc.. pop pop of a rivet gun... something just hit the floor.. a wrench maybe..flashes of light of sparks and welding pops.....* an eerie silence fills the air *the sound of he air compressor kicking on... and the paint sprayer pssssht pssssssht...*

only thing i'll say... official engine refit to OTS PW615F-A. For and per contract obligations and reliability targets, out comes the "custom engine" and in slides an off-the-shelf solution.. that may exceed even the prior installation, and best of all.. it's a PW and even cert'd engine... and fits..

I'll also say.. that in the paint shop... well.. you'll have to see when the photos dry here in a few minutes.... :cylon2:

3 minute barrier broken...

Postby kiofka »

I just checked the video a couple times over, You broke the big 3 barrier by 2 seconds on the second lap!
That, Ladies and Gentlemen, is a new world record. And you say it's getting faster? Better get a tighter G-suit then...

I definitely need to update the main MIG page now, everything on it. The blue paint in this gallery is my favorite and quite caught me off guard at how cool it turned out in the render. PW615F-A in there now, with 1460 at 100%, ~1625 at full power w/o AB. Up about 125lbs over prior, for non afterburn high cruise.

Image

ps obtw... Kiofka.. good eye. my gauntlet laps.. lap-2. through the gate at 3:48, then at 6:44... making lap two.. 2:56. now.. after what's written above. max thrust is up to ~1625+1000 at full tilt. (up from 1500+1000). I may try to fine tune for the tuned thermodynamic max.. which will give about 50 more.
