XLFX out of 5U1 for a little stint following the I-15 north, and then RTB back to the airport to have a little peek having put
WinterWorld back in. Nothing quite compares to how it really looks out there today.. with real weather on and real-time.. this view is far too clear. IRL it's IMC.. 1/4 to 1/2 in freezing fog. Crystaline ice formed on everything. Ice such that even the dirt is frozen solid and icy slippery. Temp, about 20F. No snow to speak of, beyond a trace dusting the other day adding to standing, drifts and shoveled amnts. But the air is such that the clouds are on the ground, visibility is no higher than 1/3-1/2. might be as low as 1/4 mi. RVR lets say about 1600-2100. So.. i'm a bit surprised at XP's lack of matching the reduced vis.. but anyway.. this was a nice shot. A pleasant little flight in the LFX....
After That... Thought I'd take a nice "snow speeder" like flight in the SeaWing... today partially dubbed "SnoWing" in brushed aluminum and carbonfiber "Ricon". Setup for TERR mode 30', WLV mode for hand steering, and ATHR 100 KIAS prop slowed to 2000. In PAV IFR (I follow Roads) mode.. from 5U1 all the way down the I-15 to KGTF
