my term for it is 10bX. beta #_variable-x. I do not use the "rc" label because people can shorten it to just R, or think it is a 'release' since the term contains "release' in the whole name which is "release candidate" which is also just a "non-final". we all know it's still riddled with problems, so it doesn't matter what they call it. it's v10bX until all glaring issues are vanquished, right.
i don't use v10bX beyond just opening up something long enough to hand fly it for a few minutes, or set AI flies my plane, so I can observe what it does. change rendering option modes, cycle the sun/moon around so I can observe lighting and shadow effects. quit. resume working in blender, or go fly enjoyably in 970.
the SR2X group will get an update soon, probably after the helicopter group. I might try to sneak the Joker in real quick, and the Velocity has been very patient in waiting for it's turn too. The *gags* over_shine present in v10 is a real nuisance. but same logic continues to be valid. to not actually make changes to chase these nuisances until everything is established the way it's going to be as a final condition. as many can see, simple changes, to as many planes, for just altering something like specular shine value, is itself a daunting job. then if they 'fix' it and change it back, i'd have to re-do all that same work over again changing everything ... back to the way it was in the first place. anyway, before this becomes a rant.
