RW 25 Approach past C74 Hanger
Here is a X-Plane 10.04rc1 Report from KMTH in Florida. Just spent 3 Hours shooting Landings with the Joker on runway 25 and burned a virtual half tank of Fuel.
I am really pleased with the new look of X-Plane 10 and its ATC, and Scenery Support. Although there are still many improvements to be made in the wildly improved design, the current compatibility with 9.7 scenery and aircraft is quite acceptable and getting better. Simulator fps performance on my W7 System is very good.
I enclose some shots of my favorite fun aircraft! All the C74 aircraft I have ported to XP10 have operated (flown) as well or better than in XP9.7 Some minor rendering problems and viewing problems exist but do not affect flight operations.
Best Regards

Those look fantastic Bob, as does that fantastic scenery of yours mixed in with the v10 surrounding areas. I'm elated that you're having such a good time with the xJoker. it sure is a hoot to fly. :)

after a comment at org, I needed to go have a look at SR22T in v10bX. trimmed for hands off across speeds from 140-160 indicated. checked the airfoil file and it's already fine. the v10 over-glisten effect is fairly annoying, even after it's already been specular reduced in the obj prior to present. But it flies nice, no issues are observed. v10_brap issues, but none with the aircraft.

Nice shots.

One of my favorites to fly--she's a dream. You're lucky to still have v10.04r1 & you should hang onto it--instal another copy of X-Plane elsewhere if you want to update the releases as v10.04r1 was the last version to be reasonably stable 'AND HAVE THE ORIGINAL CLOUDS' Sadly I lost my saved version & am stuck with the present 'Milk Soup' clouds they have modified the originals down too which is pretty grim flying VHR with real weather turned on.

I really miss v10.04r1. as I could fly VHR Mountain GA in it on my machine at lowish but flyable fps and always find some bearing through the cloudbreaks and mist--LR sorting that one is top of my wishlist-Cheers

my term for it is 10bX. beta #_variable-x. I do not use the "rc" label because people can shorten it to just R, or think it is a 'release' since the term contains "release' in the whole name which is "release candidate" which is also just a "non-final". we all know it's still riddled with problems, so it doesn't matter what they call it. it's v10bX until all glaring issues are vanquished, right. :D

i don't use v10bX beyond just opening up something long enough to hand fly it for a few minutes, or set AI flies my plane, so I can observe what it does. change rendering option modes, cycle the sun/moon around so I can observe lighting and shadow effects. quit. resume working in blender, or go fly enjoyably in 970.

the SR2X group will get an update soon, probably after the helicopter group. I might try to sneak the Joker in real quick, and the Velocity has been very patient in waiting for it's turn too. The *gags* over_shine present in v10 is a real nuisance. but same logic continues to be valid. to not actually make changes to chase these nuisances until everything is established the way it's going to be as a final condition. as many can see, simple changes, to as many planes, for just altering something like specular shine value, is itself a daunting job. then if they 'fix' it and change it back, i'd have to re-do all that same work over again changing everything ... back to the way it was in the first place. anyway, before this becomes a rant. :geek:

Yeah I can understand where you're coming from. Theres going to be a lot of 'Messing' in X-Plane for some time to come (Lets just hope they don't mess their way back down to v8!!)

The plane looks good and more importantly flies well (I'm exploring Northern Japan for the first time in her now) she's a nice little thing to explore in, quite fast, nice Nav & I have no problems settling her down on shortish strips.

shots taken today of the A109E update posted today. I'm going to be re-baking the interior a little, varying the interior object mirroring and adjusting the lamps to get more of the appearance that I want. But until then, I didn't want to hold up the update and make anyone wait any longer while I continue to work on some of the rendering fine tuning. so expect another update in a few days also.

I couldn't resist this. I was reading about "Pilot for the Targawing" in this section, and I got intrigued.

lookin good colonel! a flexible whip antenna on that would look pretty cool. looks like your FOV is pretty wide too. and ty, that reminds me that the water wings need some interior luvvins too, esp since one serves both I think... urg.. no it doesn't. hahaha.

there's far too many 'wood jokes to make. saying even that much makes them all. that is among one of Criminy's best though. a true artisan and really did some majesty on those seawing and woody liveries.

Saw your post in X-Plane org forum--Though you have had the same posted here on the C74 forum for months in more detail--Pity you mate--it must be frustrating as the queries come out "Whats up with C74's Planes" rather than "Whats LR playing at?"

On the bright side your planes look great screenshot on X-Plane--no other Sim could do them justice!!

Just keep them coming with the same finish & style Jason--I'll not be whinging :P
