Hot-dogging in the Joker in Le Havre, Normandy.
Jason warned me this thing was not the easiest plane to fly. Both of those engines turn in the same direction, so it has some interesting torque effects, particularly at low speed. It's not terribly stable either, especially at high AoA, and spin recovery is tricky as well. But once you get the hang of it, it's got some pretty unique aerobatic capabilities. Nice liveries, too. As usual, I'm sure I'll put $20 worth of hours on this one.

Landing the PiperJet in Grenoble.
One minor complaint about this one, the little extendable "tray" that has the GPS's, some switches, etc. seems to be linked to the brake controls…? Not sure what the reason for this is, but the animation is easily reassigned in Blender to speed brakes or a slider.
Other than that, this is another nice one that I'm sure I'll be putting some miles on. Thanks again Jason!

EDIT: OK, the manual explains the brake/tray thing. I see its point (I had suspected this was done on purpose as a safety interlock) but I still find it very awkward. Particularly since it only fully opens with the PARKING brakes on, with the REGULAR brakes it's half-open, half-closed. Which doesn't really make sense.
Anyway, just my opinion.

EDITED EDIT: Well, I've flown it around a bit and I have to admit, the tray/brake thing is growing on me. Although it still bugs me that it's half-open with regular brakes (while it should still be all the way closed) I actually think the "safety interlock" thing is a nice idea. I think it the partial-extension thing could be solved by setting three key-frames in Blender, with the tray closed when the brake dataref is at 0 or 0.5 and open when it's at 1.

EDITED EDITED EDIT: Ooh, better idea! Use TWO datarefs, the brakes AND a slider. Brakes switch back and forth between two objects, one is a tray that just sits there, not linked to anything, and doesn't open when you hit the slider; that one is shown when the brakes are ON. The other one (shown when the brakes are OFF) is ALSO linked to a slider, so it slides open nice and smooth--but only when the brakes aren't activated!

New CCM510 Mustang Interior Shots

Postby kiofka »

AADX did a spectacular job on an upgrade to the Mustang interior.
I thought these shots deserved there own Topic Line.
I think all the Mustang owners will be flying this one for long time!
I'd like to see other peoples favorite shots...
(Be sure to click on the photos for the full resolution shots) I've seen nice texture before but, Holy Moly!

What a craftsman. I could buy 3 homes in California for the price of this baby in real life.
This has got the Chandler mark of excellence written into its DNA.

I'll be watching this thread too. I have more things I want to do in there with blender lights. but I didn't want to hold it up pending that. so, do get shots posted now.. and if another update comes along with better lighting effects.. we'll just keep the party going.

Only the second time I've ever encountered lightning with real weather, over Africa in the Bone. First was in Panama during my flight around the world.

LOL. awesome. yeah, lighting is a cool treat in XP. I wonder if "shooting stars" are still in there.

Aquila, you're the screenshot monster, I love it. other than my one RocketRacer one so far you own the whole page. great work!

If' you'd like to do a quick direct 1-2-3 for what is necessary to get setup for online flying we can try out that Joker CSL you did.

Cessna 150 over the Outer Banks.
Weirdly, this one might be my favorite of Jason's real-world planes. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's one of the few that I might actually be able to own someday. The Piper Cherokee--another favorite--is in that category as well, you can buy one of those used for $20,000.

LFX on a foggy day.
MAN this thing is fast! 224 minutes from North Carolina to northern Wisconsin, not many propeller planes can do that. Let alone do it below 10,000 feet and following navaids rather than going "as the crow flies." And I love the Bugatti skin (although I switched out the appropriate png's so I could have black tip tanks, it looked funny with the white ones.) I really do see why everybody likes this one so much!
