I needed a validation run to demonstrate "trimmed for hands off" stability and how responsive/sensitive the CTJ is, and isn't.

Vne disregarded, in *test pilot* mode. a few hits of nose down trim, and you can see the path vector. Through QSAF in ~about 5-6 minutes overall, the video is cut down for run length and to demonstrate control stability when hand flown, at the highest speed possible which would make for the largest flight path deviations if there were any instabilities or errant sensitivity.

About 320-330 up to 360'ish turned in. Takeoff at mid weight and just laid it in for one lap of the course. A really nice fly.

doing a CCM510 one next for comparision as well.

CCM510 MUSTANG around QSAF to compare hand for hand in short order. It's a smidge slower than the CTJ from the Mustang probably having extra weight, lower thrust-weight ratio, and more surface area. It does fly very cleanly and direct, while it's flight path vector is lower down the pilots view. Similar to the CTJ, just a couple hits of nose down trim for flight at high speed, and I did have an eye on the AOA instrument a few times to make sure it wasn't too far into negative aoa while at high speed. it cooks along smartly while the high pitched whistle from the small and running for all their worth engines just sing away. It's a sweet aircraft, sweet to be flown modestly and proper, or hustled through the shakedown track at test-rivet-strength pace.

Saw this posted over at avsim, thought I'd re-post here since it's been a while.
It's a good video and genuine enthusiasm for the plane. Thanks again Simon. :)

I believe winterworld download is still in the resources section. even for me it will be going back in soon.

and i'll re-post this here too, I'm still so enamored to see a helicopter running fast enough to scoot through the fast track.

I had to do it. put a video to this coptah running a track that humbles out to boredom most GA fixed wings.

anyone remember the x470_BO & x470_MD (in the free download section now).
Jetman there is in with 4 of the micro jet turbines... not dissimilar to the x470 ;)

Well.. without a better more specific place to put this and also without wanting to start a topic for it. I'll put this here for now. It's something to see. I was talking with Kiofka today and I said exactly this is what it would look like.

Congress Opens US Skies to Drones
Congress has passed a bill directed at the FAA, which not only will speed up the nation's switch from radar to an air traffic control system based on GPS technology, but will also require the FAA to open up access to unmanned aerial vehicles within four years. You can bet that law enforcement agencies are eagerly awaiting the opportunity. But are we ready for drones to be surveilling our skies? CDT's Harley Geiger discusses.

:D sorry, what an unfortunate preview image still.
