Dont like to get too low in this area as the Scenery is badly put together for the Canyon, does not render well & it spoils the shot--Polygons --polygons......

Good point! There are some spots where the scenery is acceptable.

I thought the new XP10 has higher resolution of scenery mesh. Do you know?

Without a doubt but it's by no means perfect. A great deal of America is well catered for, one of the reasons I like to fly in the Areas I mentioned earlier but there are other parts that are not too clever at all (The tundra's of Canada/Alaska for example and Siberia) Where there should be beautiful lakes and beaver streams theres nothing but Forest. LR should put a little more effort into what is never-the-less pretty good terrain scenery. (It's definitely not Walt Disney style like some Sims)

Problem is there's a lot of people coming across from FSX and they are often more obsessed with Scenery than Aircraft or flying & they put pressure on LR for what they want.(In my opinion { & it's only an opinion} so many screenshots are spoilt by people trying to impress their collection of Scenery or often 'Mickey Mouse Airports' which results in a Vague shot of a plane swamped somewhere in the resulting visual confusion. Strangely enough these Guys tend to fly the 'Big Birds' & spend 95% of their time above 20.000ft & beyond visable view of the ground which they only see during brief Takeoffs/Landings??)

I dont think we can complain of the resolution in general offered by v10 at present--it's pretty neat & can only get better.I rarely fly more than 3000 above the regions ground level so I need reasonable GeologyTerrain Scenery.

Well, people are visually minded. Not so surprising they wanna look at pretty things and focus on that. That itself has become their hobby - I'm cool w/ that. Occasionally I like to share cool pics, but it's a side effect of my main hobby: sim flying. And most of that is around 5000 ft AGL. That's just my perspective. It'll take some time where we have scenery that is reasonable accurate for VFR stuff. I can't wait.

Thats just my point GlowWorm--I don't think is at all pretty--when it is I'll be spending money on it. The Aircraft however really are becoming both Pretty & Pretty realistic.

Now if you want an example of 'Pretty & Pretty realistic Scenery then take a look at what you see out of aTrain simiulator window--I've actually been able to identify the species of some track side Fauna they have been that exact. Mind you I realise that such Scenery is made to view over short distances and generally on a narrow flat plane. It will come though--and soon I think!

thinks everyone is too heavily loaded on turkey, pie, and sacks of sale loot to get any planes off the ground?

OK, with everything updated to 1011 to let light inside the cockpit for 3d_on_plane and global shadow modes. and afaik the material&shade issue was cleared by LR several versions ago.

Lets make with the screenshots. the v10(1011) spec models have the setting on them for high-res textures inside and out so regardless of your main texture resolution setting and if lowered because v10 is heavy and let it downsample world/scenery textures, on my planes they'll all be crisp. I've sampled most of them in v10 for appearance, so I wanna see you all out there flying around, getting some nice shots with the shadows working-their-magic, maybe even HDR lamp glow on the outside.
