TH, I just love that little
xHawk. for as basic as it seems, it really scoots well, a nice little commuter or 2-seat private plane with swiftness. I love those great dramatic and artistic screenshots you've been doing. very evocative and even the images alone paint a picture of a story happening. great job.
Swantee1, the air-brake is a panel extended from center bottom of the fuselage. operated independently and as necessary. the flaps are 'split' which are effective both as flaps, and as drag_devices. also use as appropriate or necessary. The FMS. it's a tight fit there, you're welcome to edit the panel and scale it down a few % or change it to the FMS_small.

The return trip* of the Yuma-SanDiego-Yuma mission.
Leaving the
SR2X there as part of a ferry-delivery, or for scheduled maintenance, or something.
Chose to return trip in the
PA-46-350P Malibu Mirage.
- loaded up and ready, 600lb of payload, 600lb of fuel.
using the short GA strip at Brown Field San Diego
- this strip is fairly short. first position Flap and intending for maximum power takeoff
but not making a 'short field' case which may seem a bit harsh on the passengers.
- up and off, positive rate, runway gone. gear up
- high power climb due west.
The Mexico border merely a few miles away, seen in the distance here.
- looking north over the San Diego area.
continuing West heading climbout waiting for right turn departure when at sufficient altitude and distance.
- looking down, watching the ground fall away.
- glamour shot
- right pattern turn near the coastline.
- 90° right pattern turn to deviate from extended runway centerline from Brown
- a short duration, at cruise climb speed, to move over and away.
preparing for a turn to the east for VFR direct Yuma.
- turning Eastbound for a lazy intercept angle on the direct course to Yuma that
was initialized while on the ground at Brown Field. Heading up to 15.5
